Celebrate PI Day with the Air Force!

Let’s celebrate Pi Day, the International Day of Mathematics, with the US Air Force! Join Dr. Rachel Kinard to learn about mathematics in her career. The session will cover an introduction to the concept of Pi and its importance in real-world Air Force applications. 

Key Questions:

  • What is Pi and how is it used in the Air Force?

  • What are some examples of Pi used in the Air Force?

  • What is it like to be a mathematician in the Air Force?

Expected Outcomes:

  • Students will be able to describe the importance of Pi.

  • Students will be able to give examples of how Pi is used in the Air Force.

  • Students will gain an awareness of career options as a mathematician.

Grade levels: Middle school and high school.
