Aim for the Stars with Aerospace Engineering

It's National STEM Day, and today we are talking about aerospace engineering. Have you ever dreamed of exploring the cosmos? Or maybe you dreamed of working for the US Space Force or Air Force? Even if you want to stay closer to earth as an airline pilot, engineering knowledge is critical to success in these areas!

Key Questions

• What does a typical day look like for an aerospace engineer?

• What are different industries that an aerospace engineer might work within?

• How do aerospace engineers and the work they complete benefit society as a whole?

• What skills/topics did you learn in high school that would be used in a career as an aerospace engineer?

Expected Outcomes

After completing this session, students will understand what an aerospace engineer does, how the work completed benefits society, and how high school learning connects to this real-world work.
