Attention students in grades 7 through 12: You have an opportunity to design DNA experiments that address a challenge in space exploration!
Life on Earth has evolved under the effects of our gravity and the protection of our atmosphere. Human space exploration opens up amazing new opportunities for life, and serious challenges too. The Genes in Space Challenge is a great way to expand upon life science!
Finalists, Honorable Mentions, Junior Scientist Awardees and Constellation Awardees will receive complete P51 Fluorescence Biotechnology Kits for their schools. Each kit includes a class set of P51 Fluorescence Viewers, a classroom set of micropipettes, micropipette tips and a Learning Lab kit - an $800 value.
Winners will participate in Space Biology Camp to prepare their experiment for space travel.
This includes travel to Kennedy Space Center to see the launch.
