April 14th is World Quantum Day. Let’s celebrate with the US Air Force! Students will be introduced to the concept of quantum science with Dr. Michael Senatore, expert on quantum computing from Rome Labs in Rome, New York. Students will learn about quantum science and how it relates to every-day things, and solving real life problems. Dr. Senatore will describe his work in the quantum lab and share a day in the life of an Air Force scientist.
Key Questions
What is quantum science/physics/computing and why is it important?
How is quantum impacting our daily lives today and in the future?
How do researchers study a science they can’t see?
How/why does the Air Force use quantum science?
Expected Outcomes
Students will be able to describe quantum science.
Students will be able to discuss how quantum science is studied.
Students will be able to give examples of how quantum science impacts their daily life.
Students will be able to explain how the Air Force uses quantum science.
Grade levels: Middle school and high school.
